have been working with the NJ Motor Vehicle Commission</span></p><p class="ecxMsoNormal" style="text-indent:-24.0pt;text-autospace:none;"><span style="font-size:15.0pt;font-family:Calibri;">since last Wednesday
to implement changes to the MVC draft policy regarding new</span></p><p class="ecxMsoNormal" style="text-indent:-24.0pt;text-autospace:none;"><span style="font-size:15.0pt;font-family:Calibri;">license plates for all
ambulances in the state. This MVC draft was presented at the</span></p><p class="ecxMsoNormal" style="text-indent:-24.0pt;text-autospace:none;"><span style="font-size:15.0pt;font-family:Calibri;">EMS Advisory Council
last Wednesday and will start on July 1 for squads who </span></p><p class="ecxMsoNormal" style="text-indent:-24.0pt;text-autospace:none;"><span style="font-size:15.0pt;font-family:Calibri;">must re-register their
ambulances after that date. The MVC project leader has been</span></p><p class="ecxMsoNormal" style="text-indent:-24.0pt;text-autospace:none;"><span style="font-size:15.0pt;font-family:Calibri;">very agreeable to the
changes that we’ve requested and worked closely with us. </span></p><p class="ecxMsoNormal" style="text-indent:-24.0pt;text-autospace:none;"><span style="font-size:15.0pt;font-family:Calibri;">Just a reminder that
this policy will be affecting many other types of vehicles, not</span></p><p class="ecxMsoNormal" style="text-indent:-24.0pt;text-autospace:none;"><span style="font-size:15.0pt;font-family:Calibri;">just ambulances.</span></p><p class="ecxMsoNormal" style="text-indent:-24.0pt;text-autospace:none;"><span style="font-size:15.0pt;font-family:Calibri;"> </span></p><p class="ecxMsoNormal" style="text-indent:-24.0pt;text-autospace:none;"><span style="font-size:15.0pt;font-family:Calibri;">Below is the

For Volunteer Squads</span></p><p class="ecxMsoNormal" style="text-indent:-24.0pt;text-autospace:none;"><span style="font-size:15.0pt;font-family:Calibri;">1)</span><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman";">
</span><span style="font-size:15.0pt;font-family:Calibri;"> All Volunteer Squad Ambulances must re-register their ambulances
between July 1, 2014 and June 30, 2015.</span></p><p class="ecxMsoNormal" style="text-indent:-24.0pt;text-autospace:none;"><span style="font-size:15.0pt;font-family:Calibri;"> </span></p><p class="ecxMsoNormal" style="text-indent:-24.0pt;text-autospace:none;"><span style="font-size:15.0pt;font-family:Calibri;">2)</span><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman";">
</span><span style="font-size:15.0pt;font-family:Calibri;">Volunteer Ambulances whose registrations expire on July 31, 2014 can
re-register and obtain their OA ambulance plates as of July 1, 2014 at
local Motor Vehicle Commission Offices.</span></p><p class="ecxMsoNormal" style="text-indent:-24.0pt;text-autospace:none;"><span style="font-size:15.0pt;font-family:Calibri;"> </span></p><p class="ecxMsoNormal" style="text-indent:-24.0pt;text-autospace:none;"><span style="font-size:15.0pt;font-family:Calibri;">3)</span><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman";">
</span><span style="font-size:15.0pt;font-family:Calibri;">Volunteer Ambulances registrations will continue to be registered as
NF registration code 12.</span></p><p class="ecxMsoNormal" style="text-indent:-24.0pt;text-autospace:none;"><span style="font-size:15.0pt;font-family:Calibri;"> </span></p><p class="ecxMsoNormal" style="text-indent:-24.0pt;text-autospace:none;"><span style="font-size:15.0pt;font-family:Calibri;">4)</span><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman";">
</span><span style="font-size:15.0pt;font-family:Calibri;">Volunteer Ambulances with multi-year registrations should re-register
and plate them between July 1, 2014 and June 30, 2015 using the expiration
month on their multi-year registration. I.E. registrations expiring on April
30,2016 will be registered by April 30, 2015.</span></p><p class="ecxMsoNormal" style="text-indent:-24.0pt;text-autospace:none;"><span style="font-size:15.0pt;font-family:Calibri;"> </span></p><p class="ecxMsoNormal" style="text-indent:-24.0pt;text-autospace:none;"><span style="font-size:15.0pt;font-family:Calibri;">5)</span><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman";">
</span><span style="font-size:15.0pt;font-family:Calibri;">Volunteer Squads will provide a certificate on Squad Letterhead
indicating to what political subdivisions they provide Basic Life Support
Services and, certifying that their ambulances and ambulance equipment are
qualified to perform Emergency Medical Services as prescribed under NJSA
27:5F-13.1 through NJSA 27:5F-27. </span></p><p class="ecxMsoNormal" style="text-indent:-24.0pt;text-autospace:none;"><span style="font-size:15.0pt;font-family:Calibri;"> </span></p><p class="ecxMsoNormal" style="text-indent:-24.0pt;text-autospace:none;"><span style="font-size:15.0pt;font-family:Calibri;">6)</span><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman";">
</span><span style="font-size:15.0pt;font-family:Calibri;">The person re-registering the volunteer ambulance shall present the
current registration, certificate, completed MVC Form BA49 and a valid Photo ID
Driver’s License. The Area Executive VPs and District VPs can go to the local
MVC office to obtain a supply of these forms for their squads if they’d like.
Otherwise, the squads can go to the office & pick up the form themselves;
completing it at the MVC office OR brining it back to the squad to complete and
bring with them when they go to re-register their ambulance(s).</span></p><p class="ecxMsoNormal" style="text-indent:-24.0pt;text-autospace:none;"><span style="font-size:15.0pt;font-family:Calibri;"> </span></p><p class="ecxMsoNormal" style="text-indent:-24.0pt;text-autospace:none;"><span style="font-size:15.0pt;font-family:Calibri;">7)</span><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman";">
</span><span style="font-size:15.0pt;font-family:Calibri;">It is our understanding that all other volunteer squad vehicles
including and not limited to Crash Trucks, First Responder Vehicles and
Chief’s/Command Vehicles will still maintain their NF Registrations and License
Plates.</span></p><p class="ecxMsoNormal" style="text-indent:-24.0pt;text-autospace:none;"><span style="font-size:15.0pt;font-family:Calibri;"> </span></p><p class="ecxMsoNormal" style="text-indent:-24.0pt;text-autospace:none;"><span style="font-size:15.0pt;font-family:Calibri;">8)</span><span style="font-size:9.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman";">
</span><span style="font-size:15.0pt;font-family:Calibri;">MVC will notify all Motor Vehicle Offices of the above as it pertains
to Volunteer Ambulance Corps., First Aid and Rescue Squads.</span></p><p class="ecxMsoNormal"><span style="font-size:15.0pt;font-family:Calibri;"> </span></p><p class="ecxMsoNormal"><span style="font-size:15pt;font-family:Calibri;"><span class="ecxApple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre;"> </span> 9)</span><span style="font-size:9pt;font-family:'Times New Roman';"> </span><span style="font-size:15pt;font-family:Calibri;">MVC will provide the New Jersey State First Aid
Council, Inc. with a copy of <span class="ecxApple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre;"> </span>the notification they sent to the MVC
Offices. We will then ensure that each <span class="ecxApple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre;"> </span>squad is given a copy of the notification
that they can bring to the local MVC <span class="ecxApple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre;"> </span>Office to avoid any problems with the
