[KPFARS-Members] SB Incident Numbers for 2020+

In order to automate the future automatic rollover of incident numbers within the CAD system for all agency’s from year to year, the format of incident numbers generated by South Brunswick is being changed effective immediately and will also be back dated to January 1st of this year.

After discussions of the situation with/by the Twp. with the CAD vendor at the end of 2019, they have come back and offered a solution which would not require a manual intervention every year for all disciplines and renumbering of all incidents prior to the manual intervention.  The solution is that a new & permanent prefix that will be appended to all incidents and the leading number indicating the area (“1” Kendall Park “2” Monmouth Junction “3” Kingston) will be dropped.
The new incident number format will specify which group (FD for Fire or FA for EMS) the incident belongs to and which area.

EMS prefixes will be as follows;

Monmouth Junction - FAMJ
Kendall Park - FAKP
Kingston - FAKN

So the new incident numbers will now be “prefix-year-6 digits”; example FAKP-2020-000056 will be new format for a KP call going forward.

EMSCharts has also just been updated with this new incident number formatting and I will go back and update the ones entered to this point with the new format over the next couple days.
