All,

Please see the below safety alert from OEMS, and please remember to always stay alert of your surroundings and if something doesn't feel right, look right or seems off in any way, leave the area and call for/await PD. And while YES this threat is currently only for Jersey City, there are gangs in our area and this is just a reminder to stay alert.

"From OEMS:

As many are aware, a Jersey City police officer was shot and killed earlier this week. The shooter was then shot and killed after he opened fire on other responding units. Secondary to this incident, the NJ State Police and Jersey City Police have received a credible threat that not only are the Blood Street Gangs planning to shoot and kill other law enforcement officers, but also any responding EMS personnel attempting to render aid. According to the ROIC, this threat is currently for Jersey City only but EMS crews are urged to be extra vigilant. The Department will keep you abreast of any further updates we receive. Thank you. Please be safe."

Thank you,
Brian Low-Beer, Chief
