PLEASE READ.!!!
At this time A66 has a working computer for emsCharts. By Tomorrow,
(Sunday) A62 will also have a working computer. The other 2 computers are
in the process of being put back into service. We have also just "AQUIRED"
several additional computers. They are slightly older and larger than the
New ones we got from the Fire Departments. However, they do work. I have
placed one as a spare at New Road. It is located on the table by the pager
and walkies. NOTE: the additional computers will NOT fit in the brackets in
the ambulances. See additional info below about the larger computers .
* Plug the computers (Older style that will not fit in the bracket in
the ambulances) in to charge in the New Road building when not in use.
* They are running a newer operating system than the smaller
computers (Windows 8.1).
* They will not connect to the internet unless you are at the New
Road or Henderson Road building. (No Verizon wireless access)
* Touch screens may need additional calibrating.
* Please let me know if there are any issues encountered with the
larger computers.
On another note: OPEN CHARTS
We are 1 and a half years into computer charting reports. For the most part
members keeping up with open charts is not an issue. However, we have
several members that don't, can't, or will not close their charts within 72
hours of the call. We have been flagging charts that are open more than 5
days. We have been in contact with most of the members with consistently
open charts and we still have an issue with them being closed in a timely
manner.
A few members with specific issues on charts have contacted a line officer
about the chart being open. This is not an issue and the problems are being
worked on. To my knowledge, the rest of the open charts have not been
closed and there is not a valid reason for their open status.
If you are responsible for completing a chart that is more than 3 days old,
please close it immediately or provide a valid reason to keep it open. As
always, if you need assistance with the computers contact a line officer.
