This morning there was an accident involving a responding ambulance in a neighboring town, sadly with a fatality of one crew member and one other seriously injured. Everyone remain safe out there and I'll pass along pertinent details as they come.

MESSAGE TYPE: Alert

INCIDENT TYPE: Fatal MVA Involving Ambulance

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 25 July 2015, 0758 Hrs. (received by the NJ ROIC at 0850 Hrs.)

LOCATION: Ryders Lane and Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, Middlesex Co.

DETAILS: The NJ ROIC received information that the East Brunswick Police Department is investigating a fatal motor vehicle accident involving a Spotswood Ambulance at the above location. The ambulance was responding to a call for service when it was involved in a three car motor vehicle accident. One EMT from Spotswood EMS has been pronounced deceased. A second EMT from Spotswood is being transported to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center in critical condition.

IMPACT: An assessment of the situation reveals the following:
Increased first responders in the area.
Traffic congestion should be expected in the area due to local road closures.
