At this time the RWJ New Brunswick ER is closed to all patients (including trauma) due to an electrical issue/power outage. This means NO patients can be transported here.

Although I have been seeing the NJ Hippocrates system updated about every two hours, they are simply extending the divert for another two hours.  As of the last update I received they are expecting this to be a prolonged outage and they don't anticipate repairs being completed anywhere from late tonight to sometime Monday morning<x-apple-data-detectors://2>. Until repairs are completed, the ER will remain closed.
Once it reopens I will again send notification.

~~This is important as they are our closest Level 1 trauma center, the other 2 in NJ are minimally 1-1.5 hours away. The closest trauma center (Level 2) is Capital Health Regional Medical Center (750 Brunswick Ave, Trenton, NJ 08638), which is still about 45 minutes away. Please keep this all in mind when first arriving on a scene and triaging the patient(s) in determining if the best course of action is the send the patient by ground or by air.~~
