A paramedic from Colorado, who was part of the FEMA strike force sent to the NY/NJ metropolitan area to assist with the pandemic in New York City has died of Covid 19.

As indicated in the attached email from the Middlesex County OEM, the NJ Task Force is looking for EMS vehicles to provide an escort.  If you are available and would like to participate, we will make an ambulance available.  You must be at the Mills at Jersey Gardens by 11 am tomorrow (Sunday, May 3).

Attention all NJ EMS Agencies-

Paramedic/FF Paul Cary, aged 66, of Colorado died in the line of duty earlier this week, while serving as part of a FEMA National Ambulance Contract in New York City.   Medic Cary had volunteered for the mission as part of Ambulanz's New York COVID Response Team, and unfortunately succumbed to the COVID-19 virus.

On Sunday May 3, 2020, Medic Cary will be escorted from NYC to Newark Airport by a multi-jurisdictional ceremonial escort unit.

EMS Units are requested from across NJ to stage at The Mills at Jersey Gardens at 11am Sunday 5/3/2020 to help pay respect.  Units will be deployed to line the route as well as entrance to the airport.  Sending units should ensure:
· Sending agency must have proper coverage
· Marked agency units
· Minimal staffing per unit
· ALL Personnel must wear face masks at all times
· Units will be lining a route, ready to stand at attention while procession passes, wearing PPE at all times
If your agency is able to provide a unit, with PPE, RSVP to njemsmacc at njemstf.org<mailto:njemsmacc at njemstf.org> with unit type, number of personnel and contact info.
