If you have a patient that is concerned that they may have Covid-19 or was exposed to someone who has tested positive , use the Checklist for BLS Triage to Home. If the patient checks no in all the areas, they are a candidate to be left at home. For the straight forward cases, you do not need to call medical control per Dr. Harrison. If in doubt, you may call Dr. Harrison before 11 pm. If he does not answer, call the hospital patient wants to go to or poison control. Please leave a copy of the instructions in the clipboard with the patient. If the patient insists on going, take them, but advise them that the emergency department may not see them and we will not provide transport home. You do not need a signed RMA, just document that the BLS triage to home waiver was used.

Also, please let me know via email that you used it. Each week, we have to provide the OEMS with a report and one question is how often we used this waiver and other waivers. I have been relying on patient care reports, but it would be easier if I could rely on emails.

Thanks.
