Good Morning,



I wanted to keep you updated with the ED redesign process that we have been
working on these past few weeks  – our go-live is scheduled for 12/12/22 at
7:00am.



As you are aware, our volumes and acuity have increased greatly over the
past months resulting in a focused review of the ED processes to provide
the best care for our patients.  We are requesting that our EMS partners
take a minute to alert us of their arrival so we can provide a timely
transfer of care for their patient.



•Patients will be sorted into 3 categories of acuity and transported to
that particular location within the ED so they are seen timely:

•High

•Medium

•Low



It is paramount for EMS to contact the charge nurse prior to arrival. The
charge nurse will make every attempt to block a bed for you before you
arrive making turnaround time shorter. This cannot be done unless you call
ahead. Please use 609.874.8698.



This is a learning experience and there will be growing pains but this will
be our process going forward.



Patients may be placed in a lower acuity area based on the charge nurses
assessment.



Our EMS partners will be instrumental in achieving success therefore,
please know that the feedback will be essential to enable us to address
situations that require modification
