As a reminder of the light and sirens policy that has been in place for over the last decade.

Policy for responding with a patient to a medical facility or any location. (Prearranged or emergency)

1. Lights and sirens may only be used during transport with a patient when:
* Trauma Alpha or Bravo cases are involved (ALS unavailable)
*  Code MI (ALS unavailable)
*  Code stroke (ALS unavailable)
* Unstable airway cases (ALS unavailable)
* Or any patient that is in immediate life threating condition. (ALS unavailable)
Additionally, lights and sirens should only be used when specifically requested by ALS (Advanced Life Support).
2. Crews should prioritize safety as follows:
*  Crew Safety
*  Safety of the Public
* Crew Safety (emphasizing the importance of crew safety)
* Crew members should be encouraged to request slower transport from the driver if the patient's condition doesn't meet the above criteria and/or the crew member has concerns for the patient and their own safety.

Consideration should also be given to not using lights and sirens during the response to a dispatched location based on the type of call dispatched.

These policies prioritize safety for both ambulance crews and the public, and they restrict the use of lights and sirens to specific medical situations when ALS is unavailable or when specifically requested by ALS provider. Additionally, they suggest evaluating the necessity of lights and sirens based on the type of call received.
