Our monthly May 2025 drill scheduled for tomorrow, May 7, 2025, is postponed and will be scheduled for a future date to be determined.

The State has opened the door for BLS agencies to provide certain treatments, previously limited to ALS agencies.  These treatments are:  (1) albuterol administration using small volume nebulizers (with the BLS agency carrying the albuterol;  (2) Continuus Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) and PEEP (Positive Expiratory End Pressure); and (3)  Glucometry.   In order to provide the best care for our community we will be attempting to institute these modalities for the squad.  These treatments require medical director approval and input.

While training is required and these skills are limited to EMTs, the training need only be approved by the medical director and do not require him to actually provide the training, many squad members have asked if Dr. Harrison could attend a meeting and share his thought about these treatments.  I am endeavoring to arrange that, but it will have to be on a day convenient to him, so I am working to set that up.
