[KPFARS-Members] Free Life Insurance Policy for EMS Volunteers

The Mass Mutual Insurance Co. is offering a free life insurance policy with a 3-year term  to healthcare workers during the Covid-19 pandemic.  It is offered through their Health Bridge Program.

It is available to eligible persons including volunteers.

To be eligible you must be between the ages of 18 and 60, must be a U.S. Citizen, resident alien, or have achieved permanent residency status, have an annual income of less than $250,000, be employed or work for a healthcare agency (volunteer EMS provider agencies are included, work in a role that involves Covid-19 exposure risk.

Individuals who are currently actively volunteering at least 10 hours per month at a healthcare or Emergency Medical Services (EMS) provider where the provider is engaged in testing, treating, or evaluating COVID-19 cases and, in the course of volunteering, the applicant has direct in-person contact with COVID-19 patients, are eligible to apply for HealthBridge.

Volunteer applicants must provide proof of volunteer work via a letter on letterhead from the healthcare facility or Emergency Medical Services provider.

The letter must confirm current active volunteer status, the number of volunteer hours worked per month, and verification of hours spent working with COVID-19 patients.
