The Binder Lift Company has provided us with 2 Binder Lift devices for 30 days, to try it out. One is the standard size and the other is the bariatric size. The standard size is for persons with chest range 34 - 62 inches. The bariatric size is for patients 58 - 82 inches.
They are located in the most rear compartment on the driver side of A-63.
With the current pandemic situation, we cannot hold a formal training session, but you should watch the linked video and then go to the building with your crew and try it out. Then, if you have a call requiring a lift assist for the patient, give it a try.
These are the vinyl version, which makes them easy to clean after use. Just wash visible stains off with soap and water, then disinfect with any of the disinfectants we have in the ambulance.
These units will make it easier to lift, because the handles are easy and convenient, they do not make the patient lighter. For large patients, you may still need additional lifters.
It will also reduce your contact with the patient. It takes little to no actual touching of the patient to apply it or lift the patient.
It will reduce you having to be in an awkward position or grabbing the patient in a manner that causes pain.
It can be put on patients in tight quarters
At the next business meeting we will then decide whether to purchase them.
The training video and other material is at www.BinderLift.com/training<http://www.BinderLift.com/training> .
Thanks.

Important! All caregivers must watch training video before attempting to utilize the Binder Lift. Although very simple to use, there are necessary skills to understand prior to using these devices on your patients.
